[sgmb id=”1″]As some of you know my drawings appear on Crooked Fingers’s release Breaks in the Armor as well as the acoustic version of the same album. Crooked Fingers aka Eric Bachmann has been one of my favorite artists for years (since I was in high school!) and last night I was happy to attend a special performance […]

As a symbol of the transient nature of life as well as rebirth, I chose to paint cherry blossoms as a tribute to the people of Japan. Our National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. is a celebration of our friendship with Japan. In response to the recent terrible earthquake in Japan and the tsunamis […]

A little late with this post, but better late than never! Last December’s piece for Denver Magazine was about Advanced Sommelier Dustin Wilson. I was asked to illustrate his unique rise to the top of his profession. A great lesson learned. I enjoyed trying to show this in one quarter page image!

Happy New Year everyone! I thought it might be interesting to start the year by showing some behind-the-scenes work, also known as “sketches” that I created for a recent commission. It was a fun illustration to do about a topic that I really find interesting, and I had a great time developing the final image. […]

Here are a few reportage drawings from last Saturday night at the Mercury Lounge NYC. I’ve been following Eric Bachmann (Crooked Fingers) for the past 17 years, so it was great to see him again live. He’s now on tour with the multi-talented Liz Durrett and I highly recommended that you see them if you […]

I was commissioned for the cover and feature article in this month’s The Scientist magazine. It’s a very insightful article linking skin disorders and allergies. Thanks to Ash, he’s a great guy to work with.

I recently completed a commission for Senior Market Advisor Magazine. The concept “A Day in the Life” was pitched to me as a behind-the-scenes look at an advisor and his family run business. With 14 illustrations in all, and the cover, this was a fantastic assignment. Mary the AD was great to work with and […]

“1-minutes” are what these short poses are sometimes called. They’re great for capturing body language and design. What I find is that they tend to be honest and instinctual. Less time to think and only time to react. It’s great exercise for the mind and hand.
Happy New Year!
